Home decorations are a big part of the furniture industry. Since I started working in the furniture business in 2007 I’ve seen a big rise in online sales. It took me some porcelain investigating in the very beginning, but now it is becoming very apparent as to why decor furniture is on the rise and bigger than ever.
A friend of mine one day was ranting about a makeover show on TV talking about rustic home decor and listening to hear I could hear her wanting to change her living room simply because of the ideas the show gave. I watched a show one day and I don’t know if it was because the room on that show looked like mine, but I also started to feel like making the same little impulsive purchase my friend was having. I later purchased a vintage home decor piece for my kitchen wall, very similar I saw to one on a show that revolved around old homes.
I notice a lot of commercials from big websites also joining in the market share promoting the styled products seen on the show being played. All this was just on one channel. I understand companies creating shows for the viewers and keeping them entertained, but when you’re constantly being bombarded with advertisements on a show, then you have the commercials, I can see what home goods are on the rise.
